Over the past few months we've been identifying both our school's aims and the values which make St Mary's special.

As we looked our strengths as a school, it became clear that we produce Caring, Curious learners, who have the Courage to aspire and go further. And as we go forward into an exciting new phase we felt it was important that we also remember - and celebrate - the rich history that the school has, and the way that St Mary's is woven into the town.

We also want to bring together our huge 'school family' - not just those pupils who are at St Mary's now, but those in their teens and twenties, plus parents, grandparents and great-grandparents who've learned here or had a connection with us!

We're at the heart of our town...

If you live in Tetbury, you'll know our name. Ever since the 1800's, St Mary's School has been fused to the town - and today, with many of its children learning here, we're still looking after its future.

In fact there are hundreds of former pupils who have thousands of shared memories! And it's each of those memories which makes the relationship between the community of Tetbury and the school really special.

Our Christian Vision

Our vision is that of a caring, Christian community where we light the spark of curiosity, build on individual talents and give everyone the courage to live life in all its fullness. (John 10:10)

St. Mary's Church of England Primary School holds at its heart Jesus' promise of 'life in all it fullness' (John 10:10). For us this means educating the whole child by providing a broad curriculum for physical and intellectual development alongside spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

We aim for children to care about themselves, each other and the world in which they live. The education we provide has a core focus on our relationships and our community. This includes taking responsibility for the well-being and worth of others enabling everyone to flourish together.

We aim to light a spark of curiosity in our pupils by encouraging them to ask questions and engage in their learning. We want children to delight in finding out, develop excellent learning behaviours and demonstrate creativity in all areas of the curriculum.

We aim to give children courage by opening up horizons of hope and aspiration and instilling in children the confidence and courage to overcome barriers, be resilient and fulfil their dreams.

Whether you are a current member of our school community, a prospective parent, a pupil, a curious teacher or simply an interested visitor to the site we hope that the information provided here gives you an understanding of our vision and values and what we aim to achieve for the children and families of Tetbury.

I joined the school as the Headteacher in September 2013. I feel very privileged to be the Head of St Mary's Church of England Primary School – it is a vibrant and caring learning community situated in the centre of Tetbury. We are the only primary school serving the town and we have been teaching the children of Tetbury since 1887. We are fully involved in the community – from participating in the famous Woolsack races to our strong links with St Mary's Church. We aim to work in partnership with the community so that children are at the heart and they have strong roots from which to grow.

Pascall stmarys 9710wSt Mary's Primary School aims to serve the families of Tetbury by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. We encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promote Christian Values through the experience we offer our pupils.

Our vision is that of a caring, Christian community where we light the spark of curiosity, build on individual talents and give everyone the courage to live life in all its fullness. (John 10:10)

Everyone is welcome at St Mary's and we are committed to ensuring that all our pupils are given the opportunity to access a high quality education that allows children to shine whilst nurturing their creativity and building upon their talents.
