St Mary's is a large primary school with talented staff, supportive parents and more importantly, amazing children who make us feel proud. 

It is rated 'Good' by Ofsted and is a vibrant and friendly school serving the market town of Tetbury, an attractive Cotswold market town.

We have a Forest School onsite, a huge field used all year round for den building, digging and exploring and an all-weather running track. As a school community we have a collective commitment to developing healthy and active children and we put children at the heart of all we do. 

We currently a vacancy for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant and a Midday Supervisor.

1 to 1 TEACHING ASSISTANT (14 hours a week) - from 26th April 2021 or as soon as possible.

We are looking to recruit a capable and experienced teaching assistant to support a child with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will be someone who:

  • is geniunely committed to developing caring and trusting relationships and supporting pupils with specific needs in accessing their education.
  • is calm, patient and adaptable.
  • has an understanding of inclusion and supporting children with SEN needs.
  • has good communication skills.

This position is a Grade 5 (previously known as Grade F) and will be for 3.5 hours a day, four mornings a week.

This role will initially be a fixed term position until the 21st July 2021 but will have the possibilty to be extended.

MIDDAY SUPERVISOR (6.25 hrs a week)

We have a vacancy for a Midday Supervisor to support our children during lunchtimes from 12:15pm to 1:30pm Monday to Friday. This position is term time only for five days a week, to start as soon as possible. 

The duties involve supervising children whilst eating their lunch and during playtime, being responsible for their welfare and safety and administering first aid for minor accidents.

Previous experience is not essential but the successful applicant will:

  • have recent experience of engaging with primary aged children;
  • enjoy working with children;
  • be lively, enthusiastic and adaptable;
  • be willing to undertake training including first aid and
  • have good communication skills.
