Welcome to St Mary's Primary School!
Welcome to St Mary’s Primary School!
It is a genuine privilege to join this wonderful school community as Headteacher. From my very first visit, it was clear that St Mary’s is a place where children are known, valued and encouraged to be themselves - a place filled with warmth, kindness and a strong sense of belonging.
At the heart of everything we do are our shared values: to be courageous, caring and curious. These are not just words we display, but principles we live by each day. We want our children to have the courage to try new things and stand up for what is right, the care to look after one another and the world around them, and the curiosity to ask questions, explore ideas and develop a lifelong love of learning.
We believe that every child is unique and full of potential. Our role is to nurture that potential - academically, socially and spiritually - so that each child can flourish and feel confident in who they are becoming. We are proud to offer a rich and engaging curriculum, but just as importantly, we prioritise relationships, wellbeing and a sense of joy in learning.
St Mary’s is more than a school: it is a community. We work in close partnership with families, the church and the wider community to ensure that children feel supported, inspired and connected. Everyone is welcome here, and we celebrate the diversity and individuality that each person brings to our school.
As Headteacher, I am committed to being visible, approachable and open. Living in Tetbury and as a parent of a child who attends St Mary’s, I feel a genuine connection here - not only as a leader, but as someone who shares in the day-to-day life of the school. I believe strongly in listening - to our children, our families and our staff - and in working together to continually shape and strengthen our school.
Whether you are already part of our community or considering St Mary’s for your child, I warmly invite you to visit us and experience the spirit of the school for yourself.
I look forward to welcoming you.
