VE Day

VE Day Celebrations

This morning, we met together for a very special collective worship for VE day. Led by Mrs Woolley, we thought about why it is important for us to celebrate and remember the 80th anniversary of the ending of the Second World War in Europe.

This evening, some children from KS2 will be joining in with Tetbury's VE Day celebrations at the Goods Shed. They are delighted to be singing a song with others, including pupils from Sir William Romney school, before the lighting of the beacon.

Reflecting on VE Day, children shared their thoughts...

"We need to remember all those people who risked their lives for our nation - for us."

"It's important that we think about all those in the war, because it wouldn't be fair on those who lost their lives if we don't remember them."

"We remember and value the courage of all those who fought, helped and waited at home."
