What a Diamond!

Olympian Emily Diamond visited St Mary's Primary School today to help the children in their bid to raise money for our own school, Sports for Schools and Action for Children.

Throughout the morning, all of the energetic pupils participated in a lung-busting circuit session.  They performed press-ups, star jumps, spotty dogs and leg thrusts.

Following their exertions, the children were then given a real treat as Emily, who competed for Great Britain in the London 2012 Olympics and hopes to do so again in Rio 2016, told them about her journey to Olympic stardom.

It was an incredibly interesting talk with a clear message: Have a go at everything, as you never know what your real talents and strengths are until you have tried it!
