Covid 19 Response & Home Learning

Current Situation

St Mary's Primary School (including Breakfast Club and Twiglets After School Club) is open to all children.

St Mary’s Primary School remains committed to reducing the spread of Covid-19 and keeping everyone in our school setting as safe as possible despite the lifting of restrictions across England.

We have an Outbreak Management Plan plan which is based on the DfE’s Contingency Framework and lays out how we will manage local outbreaks of COVID-19.

We also have an updated risk assessment  from February 2022.

We will continue to implement the following control measures:

  • Regular hand cleaning
  • Maintaining ventilation in classrooms where possible
  • Promoting good respiratory hygiene
  • Mask wearing for all adults in communal areas
  • Regular testing of staff (twice weekly)
  • Symptomatic adults and children to stay at home until they have a negative test
  • Reduce mixing of year groups where possible
  • No large gatherings - including collective worship
  • Reduce the number of visitors into school.
  • Enhanced cleaning arrangements in place - particularly touch points.
  • Sanitising spray and paper towels available in classrooms for staff use throughout the day.
  • C02 monitors available to monitor ventilation.
  • Air cleaning units in specific classrooms.

If online learning is required we will continue to use MS Teams and the online platforms Tapestry (Reception) and Seesaw (Years 1 to 6).

This letter explains more about remote learning.  Please also watch this video about using MS Teams and read help with technology.  If you need any support please let us know by emailing the School Office This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
